Nicolás Castillo arrived on January 2019 to América, when the Liga MX side paid $8 million for him to Benfica. But more than a year before the attacker only played 27 games (in which he scored nine goals and gave three assists). Some health problems let him out and now he is thinking on his final departure.

While the club continues waiting him, Castillo actualized his profile picture and change one in which he was with America’s jersey for one of him playing golf. The gesture was not well seen by some fans from the Mexican club, who questioned him his lack of professionalism in such a difficult moment.

Castillo is still making medical exams to know when he can go back to the field and the forecasts estimate that such a thing will be happening on 2021. His last game played was on December 2019, on the final game that America lost against Monterrey and where he played 25 minutes.

Born at Chile, he is now 27 years old and time is running for him. During his professional career he played for Universidad Católica former club, Club Brugge, Maguncia, Frosinone, Pumas UNAM, Benfica and finally America. Moving to another club could be an option if he doesn’t find on the Águilas what’s necessary to recover.
