This Friday a new Concacaf classic took place: the United States received Mexico for the Qualifiers towards the World Cup in Qatar, with the expectation of achieving a victory against those led by Gerardo Martino, reaching them in the standings and breaking with the undefeated that they have so far in the competition.

In the previous to the game, there were some data that excited the Americans with being able to break the good streak accumulated by the Aztec team. For starters, while the Tricolor is the one ahead in the overall record, with 37 wins, 15 draws and 22 losses, the results in the most recent games favor those led by Gregg Berhalter.

Of the last six duels between the two, the Americans emerged victorious in four of them, taking into account all the competitions in which they met. However, it is Mexico that leads the table of the octagonal final of Concacaf that will distribute the tickets to the next World Cup, undefeated in six disputed dates -four victories and two draws.

With this new victory, it is clear that the USMNT has no rival in Concacaf, since the North Americans and Mexico make a lot of difference compared to the rest of the continent, despite the fact that there is no equivalence between them today.
