They called him the new Ronaldo Nazario, Ronald Koeman challenged him and the crisis broke out at FC Barcelona

Ronald Koeman is axing some players from FC Barcelona squad, thinking on how the start of 2021 and the next season may be. The Dutch head coach has already taken some several decisions, as the one with Carles Aleñá who was loaned to Getafe CF, and may take some others soon.

One of those players who could leave Barça as the manager thinks he needs to be loaned is Martin Braithwaite. The Danish attacker arrived to the club on February of this year from CD Leganés on a permanent deal for $18 million. Just 30 matches played afterwards, they discover that he is not the great genius they thought he was.

With 29 years and a contract until June 2024 there are several options for him leaving. The forward, compared to Ronaldo Nazario when he arrived, challenged Koeman and said that he was not thinking on leaving the Catalan side and that if another attacker arrives is good for him as he will have more competition to improve.

Braithwaite has scored six goals and given two assists since his arrival. The chances he has increased during the season, due to the bad level showed by other players, as Antoine Griezmann or Philippe Coutinho. With him wanting to stay, there is now a big problem at Barcelona that Koeman will have to solve.
