Nicolás Castillo arrived America on January 2019 after the Liga MX side paid $8 million to Benfica for him transfer. Despite all the enthusiasm that his signing raised, his performance at the club wasn’t as expected. The Chilean attackers suffered too many health problems and couldn’t perform as wanted.

After more than a year, Castillo only played 27 matches and scored nine goals for America. Nowadays he is making some medical exams that will define his professional career. If the results are not the ones that he wants, he may be thinking on putting an end and stop being a soccer player.

That drastic decision isn’t yet made and will depend on what happens from now on with his health. But if Castillo finally decides to quit, America will be suffering a lot. The club will then lose a top player that can give a lot for the team and, at the age of 27, has still a lot of talent.

Economically it would also be a smash for America, as the Mexican team paid a fortune for him just more than a year ago, and he is one of the highest paid players from the whole country. Losing him implies wasting a huge talent and a player in which whom the club spent a lot of economic resources.
