Mauricio Pochettino landed in Paris to manage Paris Saint-Germain with the great objective of trying to win the first Champions League title in the story of the French side. With top figures as Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, the Argentine trainer will have his first challenge when his team face FC Barcelona on Round of 16 during February and March.

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sport adviser Leonardo considered that Poche was the idea one to take the position and hired him with an impressive salary. The amount of money they will be paying to him is even bigger than the one they gave to Tomas Tuchel during his last season at the club.

Lately, it was filtered by the international press that Pochettino will earn $550,000 monthly, being the best paid ever in the history of the club, and to that we have to add the bonuses according to titles, as the French Supercup that he already won. Tuchel earned $500,000 per month, the same amount of money that Carlo Ancelotti gained in his time at PSG (from January 2012 to June 2013).

Tuchel has been the trainer of PSG from July 2018 to December 2020, when he was sacked after 127 matches managed. Pochettino arrives after being without a job since November 2019, when he left Tottenham Hotspur as the club hired José Mourinho. Previously, the Argentine managed RCD Espanyol and Southampton as well.
