The agreement announced this Wednesday by LaLiga with the international fund CVC to inject 2,700 million euros into the competition and the clubs paves the way for FC Barcelona to renew the contract of Lionel Messi, since it will contribute some 250 million euros to the Barca coffers.

The Catalan club will enter such an amount of money thanks to the CVC injection and will be able to invest 15% directly in the game dedicated to the squad, that is, around 40 million euros. The entry of this new flow of money supposes a ball of oxygen for FC Barcelona and for its president, Joan Laporta, who will have it much easier now to sign Messi again, still on vacation and without a contract, and to enroll in LaLiga both to the Argentine and to the rest of incorporations.

The agreement must be ratified this Wednesday in the LaLiga Delegate Commission and in the CVC Investment Committee, so the economic injection is not yet confirmed, although its confirmation seems a matter of time.

Beyond the sports field, clubs must invest 70% of the money they receive in infrastructure and the other 15% in refinancing their debt and alleviating the economic damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, another aspect in which Barcelona has many duties to do.
