The controversial message of Cristiano Ronaldo that generates criticism even on phycologists
Cristiano Ronaldo posted a selfie praising the Kaizen method. Psychologists didn't react well.
Before recovering from Covid-19, Cristiano Ronaldo published on his Instagram account a photo of himself with a phrase "Kaizen philosophy". The controverse came some time later when he received criticism from a psychologist.
The psychologist Beatriz Villagrasa, who criticized Cristiano Ronaldo, said that the principles that governs the Kaizen method are gradual and continuous improvements which leads people to achieve great changes and objectives. To follow this process, the person has to have an underlying problem that prevents him from having a normal life and require changes.
This last explanation is from where the fury of psychologist came. Villagrasa said that this technique is not designed for people with big egos and overconfidence in himself, which she said it’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s case.
Beatriz Villagrasa explained that laziness is a common enemy for people who use the Kaizen method, and she believes that Cristiano Ronaldo does not meet the characteristics of a person who needs to use that method. Therefore, she concluded that is inappropriate for an athlete to send that message because it makes everything seem harder for people who really needs the Kaizen method to overcome problems.
