Since soccer started again after the suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic, Milan is the only team from the major European leagues that has not lost any matches yet. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the leading player, the team coached by Stefano Pioli is at the top of Serie A with 12 points.
In addition, the Italian club also beats teams like Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich in a curious ranking made by the CIES Football Observatory. Milan has the youngest squad of all the five big European leagues, with an average age of 24.5 years. Could the youth of the team be one of the reasons why AC Milan is unstoppable?
According to the research, Monaco is in second place with an average of 24.7 years. The French clubs Stade de Reims and Saint Etienne and the German team Stuttgart complete the podium, all of them with an average of 24.8 years. The research analyzed 67 first division leagues from all around the world.
Meanwhile, the most important Spanish teams are far from the top of the ranking. Atletico Madrid is in 60th place with an average of 27.5 years. FC Barcelona is in 70th place with an average of 28 years. Real Madrid is the last of the trio, and was ranked 76th, with an average of 28.3 years.
