Atlanta United completed an awful season. The Five Stripes ended 12th on the Eastern Conference after earning just 22 points out of 23 games played and didn’t make it to the MLS Cup Playoffs. After such results, sport advisers are looking forward to signing a new head coach.

Stephen Glass is set to leave and Atlanta United is seriously thinking on Gabriel Heinze. The Argentine is 42 years old and is actually a free agent. He started his professional managerial career at Godoy Cruz, then passed to Argentinos Juniors and finally arrived to Vélez Sársfield, from where he left this year.

Heinze has been one of the best coaches from Argentina during the last years. His teams showed some great movements, and he always tries to show his offensive intentions. Just thinking, we may affirm that the profile from the Argentinian could perfectly adapt to the intentions of the club.

Atlanta United has a story linked to Argentinians. The most great full one that passed through the club was Gerardo Martino, champion who then left to Mexico national team. Actually, the squad counts on five players from that country: Fernando Meza, Franco Escobar, Eric Remedi, Marcelino Moreno and Ezequiel Barco.
