Javier Aguirre will become the best paid coach in the MX League after saying yes to the last proposal made by Monterrey. The club also accepted the conditions made by Javier, so it is a fact that he will take over the team for the 2021 Closing Tournament.

The coach, who has played twice in the World Cup with the Mexican National Team in Korea-Japan 2002 and South Africa 2010, has yet to sign his name. He is already working out the last details in Madrid for his trip back to Mexico, where he will be arriving next week.

Javier Aguirre's contract will be higher than Ricardo Ferretti, Tigres' coach, who until today was the best paid in the Mexican league, Miguel Herrera's with America, and even the coach of the National Team, Gerardo Martino.

Rayados' intention is for Aguirre to sign a contract for three years, so the club is making an enormous economic effort in the midst of the crisis caused by the pandemic.

Monterrey will become the 12th team coached by Javier Aguirre, 62 years old, during his career, after having previously been with Atlante, Pachuca, Osasuna, Atlético de Madrid, Zaragoza, Espanyol, Al-Wahda, Leganés and the National Teams of Mexico, Egypt and Japan.

In this way, Aguirre won the race against Matías Almeyda and Ignacio Ambriz, whose names were also among the candidates to take control of the team after the departure of Antonio Mohamed, who won the League, Cup and Concachampions in his time with the nortre hern club.
