Manchester United is clearly the most successful club in Manchester and arguably the most successful English club but the rivalry they have shared with Manchester City since 2011 has been different.

Manchester City's success since then has eclipsed Manchester United's with Sheikh Mansour's billions doing wonders on the blue side of Manchester with investment in infrastructures, player signings, salaries and commercials on the high since the takeover.

Manchester United this season have a new shirt sponsor, with German company TeamViewer their main shirt sponsor and the deal is reported to be worth £47m per season which represents a loss of £17m from their former sponsorship with Chevrolet.

Manchester City have higher revenue from their shirt sponsor than their rivals. The deal with Etihad Airways is reportedly worth £67.5m per season. Manchester United's lack of trophy for four years and lack of league title for eight years contributes to their losses.
