The last transfer window will be remembered for the multiple intents of FC Barcelona to hire Lautaro Martinez and compound at Catalunya the attacking duo of the Argentine national team. Lionel Messi was eager to have his compatriot at the club and the front office of the Catalan club wanted to gave him the pleasure.

Lautaro Martinez's agents and Inter executives have been negotiating for several weeks to extend the Argentinian forward's contract. Previously, the main problem was that on the side of Lautaro Martinez they demanded 7.5 million euros per year as salary and the club offered him 5 million.

That difference of 2.5 million euros now added a new complication to close the deal. Inter executives want Lautaro Martinez's new contract to have a high exit clause in case a team wants him and they are not willing to negotiate it. But the player's agents do not accept the arrangement in any way and want to keep the exit clause of approximately 100 million euros as it is until now.

Currently Lautaro Martinez' salary is estimated in 2.5 million euros per year. He will be under contract until 2023. One week ago, prior to the Champions League match against Shaktar, he was consulted about his future. The forward replied that he doesn't know what will happen. Since his arrival to Inter he has scored 36 goals in 96 games.
