Club América is trying to be the strong contender they usually are in Liga MX by bringing new talent into the team. Of course, Santiago Baños and his people look for options in the market. But also, coach Santiago Solari has his shopping wishlist. That was handed to the board, and will wait for answers.

A few days ago, it was leaked that Jonathan Dos Santos could be one of the players América could bring for 2021. They will have to negotiate his exit from Los Angeles Galaxy, who are in the meantime trying to grab former Italy’s international Sebastian Giovinco.

Recently, it was known that former Real Madrid Alvaro Fidalgo could arrive soon, as was Solari's request after coaching him in Madrid's academy. The coach’ young brother David Solari alerted him on 23-year-old Fidalgo. The Spanish midfielder could arrive from his country’s Second Division side Castellón.

The newest name is Cristian Benavente. The wing midfielder born in Peru played for Real Madrid B from 2013 to 2015. He’s later played mainly in Belgian Pro League, apart from having played for French former champions Nantes. The 26-year-old represented his county in the 2016 Copa América Centenario, and narrowly missed playing in the 2018 World Cup.
