Barcelona is going through a crisis, both about money and soccer. The bank accounts have weakened after the pandemic hit and the first team is not performing as Ronald Koeman intends. So he has a plan. It may be difficult to accomplish, but if he successes, he would fix a big problem the club has suffered for a while.

He wants to remove the dead wood of the squad, the ones who have not responded at the required level given the circunstances. The young players from La Masia will have more opportunities, but some other players arrived to the club after a big spending and the invested money cannot go to waste.

So Koeman’s plan is to get rid of Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann. The club has spent on both near 300 million euros on fees, and these players enjoy wages that still have not been justified. If the cards are well played, Neymar will come back to Barcelona with that money. Koeman stated he desires the best players in the world to play for Barcelona.

Taking advantage of the Brazilian’s unhappiness at PSG, these moves could benefit all parts. Ney would play again with his dear friend Lionel Messi, and both Coutinho and Griezmann would find clubs that make them play better, maybe after the pressure that comes in playing for Barcelona lifts off their shoulders.
