Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus at the end of last season and rejoined Manchester United. He left Juventus after three seasons and after enduring a difficult final season under Andrea Pirlo, in which he was heavily criticised as the man responsible for the team's woes.

He received criticism from the Italian media and former players of the club which forced him to leave, also due to the fact that he was the highest earner at the club and with the club's finances struggling, it was important he left the club.

Juventus announced a €211m loss for last season despite the club owners injecting €100m last season, much of which was used to combat the effect of coronavirus on finances and the failure of the European Super League.

Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli has now announced that the club will request a further capital of €300m to be injected into the club moving forward with a significant income of the club lost due to the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
