The Club recorded a loss of €245.6m last season despite winning the league, that's a huge loss and it's no surprise that it's a record loss. It's the highest loss for a Serie A side surpassing Juventus €209m set in the last season. The club attributes the significant loss mainly to lack of match day revenue as a result of the closing of the stadium due to covid19.

Football stadiums around the world were shut to fans and it's effect is significant. Inter Milan won their first Serie A in 11 years but their financial report was nothing to boast of at the end of the season, this was coupled with early elimination from the European Competition. Despite making a revenue of €364.7m the Club was running at a loss.

This affects the club in a number of ways, such as the departure of the head coach Antonio Conte, he believes with the financial situation of the club he will not be able to sustain his league winning team because he lost his league winning and best player in Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi.

Despite the loss, Inter Milan is hopeful of positives this season. “The current season offers signs of recovery: Besides the partial reopening of stadiums, the positive summer transfer campaign and the signing of new global sponsorship contracts bear witness to the Inter brand’s constantly growing appeal,” the club said.

“These actions will make it possible to significantly reduce the group’s losses.”
