Playing in Real Madrid and celebrating a birthday party surrounded by team-mates like Pepe, Iker Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuaín, Ángel Di María, Kaká, Álvaro Morata, and Denis Cheryshev sounds like a great plan. Possibly any soccer player would love to spent a night like that. Well, this was not exactly the case. Let’s go back to December 6, 2012.

After being a legend in his national team and playing for Real Madrid, this player invited the whole team to a restaurant named Mesón Txistu in Spanish capital city. But surprisingly he found out only two team-mates attended to the party. Luka Modric and Ricardo Carvalho were the ones who joined him for dinner.

Surprised, sad, but still happy for having spent the night with two good team-mates, Ghana’s national team icon Michael Essien asked for an opinion and an advice to his coach José Mourinho, who also had him onboard at Chelsea. It was said that only Modric and Carvalho knew him from Premier League.

“Calm down, it’s nothing personal. It doesn’t mean they don’t like you or that they had better plans. They simply are interested in theirselves. They just don’t think in anything else but theirselves. Don’t take it wrong”, commented Mourinho.
