This will be his third experience as a principal coach, as he managed before Real Madrid and Real Madrid Castilla. Since he left the Galacticos, in 2019, he worked doing marketing functions for the Spanish club.

Solari passed through Mexico as a player. From July 2009 to August 2010, he played at Atlante, before moving to Peñarol and announcing his retirement on 2011. Previously he also played for Newell’s former side, Club Renato Cesarini, River Plate, Atlético de Madrid, Real Madrid, Inter and San Lorenzo.
