France national team have a team with talents but they lack leaders

The French national team are the most successful team in the world in the last five years and boast of some of the best players in the world over these years but the team is lacking in real leaders which has led to some problems in the team.

Head coach Didier Deschamps has had to deal with different issues in the team, many of which his handling of them have been suspects in escalating the issue and creating further problems. One of such was the issues involving Karim Benzema and Matthieu Valbuena which made him drop him from the national team for six years.

Another of such was the issue involving Karim Benzema again with Olivier Giroud. The two were involved in a public spat during the time Benzema was out of the team. Giroud led the team in goals but when Benzema returned, Giroud was dropped.

The recent issue happened at the Euro 2020 when the team were knocked out and a brawl started between their families in the stands. The presence of leaders in the team ensures that some issues don't get out of hand and only a few need the intervention of the head coach.
