The biggest game of the Spanish La Liga calendar is set to go down this Sunday between the two biggest clubs in Spain and two of the biggest clubs in Europe. They boast of rich history in terms of trophies won both domestically and continentally as well as attracting the best players in the world.

The two clubs have had their squads depleted in recent time with the departure of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who have 11 Ballon d'Or between them and are arguably the best soccer players ever across all generations.

Despite their departure, the two clubs still boast of expensive squads that are well ahead of many other European clubs. Barcelona has a squad value of €672m while Real Madrid has a more expensive squad with a value of €756m.

One would expect Barcelona to have a more expensive squad due to two players, Pedri and Ansu Fati having release clauses of €1bn but it's a different thing to market value. Casemiro has the highest market value at Real Madrid with €70m while Frenkie De Jong is Barcelona's most expensive player with a value of €90m
