Club America is one of the Mexican teams with the highest purchasing power in Liga MX, so they had the illusion of targeting Marcelo Gallardo, River Plate's Technical Director. However, the club could not sign the Argentine because the salary he receives is almost seven million dollars per year, according to information from journalist David Medrano. This amount seems impossible for the Mexican club to pay.

The manager Gallardo's salary is so high that only European teams have shown interest in him, as is the case with the French team PSG, a team that until a few months ago asked about the Argentine's services, stating that they would like him to manage PSG in a few months or years.
