Chivas is going through a very strange season. After several bad results, the Mexican team couldn’t make it to the top four teams on tournament Guard1anes and will now have to play the playoffs in order to try to gain the title of the season. But, the problems for the team coached by Víctor Vucetich weren’t only on the field.
Many players all along the season had undisciplined and were sanctioned by Chivas. We can mention Eduardo López, Alexis Peña and José Juan Vázquez to start and some other cases, as the one of Dieter Villalpando. All the player were left out at the end of the season for behavior problems. If kicked out, those players could leave a fortune to the club to sign new reinforcements.
Since his arrival, Vucetich promised that he would know how to mark the limits to the team, but it seems that some things maintain as always. Both owner Amaury Vergara and sport adviser Ricardo Peláez also wanted the squad in order, but weren’t able so far to manage the problems.
Chivas have just one match left on the regular season, that will be played against Monterrey on November 7. The objective of the team was to end in the top four positions this season but that won’t be happening. Chivas played 16 matches to earn 23 points and are six far away from the fourth position, occupied by Cruz Azul, with one game to play.
