Chelsea's title credentials were highly tested against a stubborn Burnley and they did not come out on top just like the way they would have wanted to. They held onto their one goal advantage for the most of the game but surrendered it late on.

There were many negatives in the match for the Blues. Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku are still out injured and Kai Havertz has been deputising as the number 9 in the absence of the strikers. It was a bad decision of Thomas Tuchel to have just two recognised strikers letting Tammy Abraham leave permanently and Armando Broja on loan.

Ross Barkley was handed a rare start but he did not justify Tuchel's selection and cost the team what should have been a win with his selfish play. It shows that the Chelsea squad is not as big as it appears, as many of those fringe players are unworthy of a place in the team.

If Liverpool beat West Ham tomorrow, they will reduce Chelsea's lead at the top of the Premier League table to just a point which is not so good for Thomas Tuchel's men as they must not surrender their top spot to either of City or Liverpool as they may never regain it.
