After bad results, lack of consensus and an economic crisis, Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned as Barcelona’s president and Carlos Tusquets took his place. In an interview with the TV show El Chiringuito, he gave a description of how weak is the economy of one of the biggest soccer teams in the world.

Tusquets lamented the situation and described it as a huge concern. He also warned he will not be able to pay salaries in January, among other problems at the club with a common denominator: Lionel Messi. His wages are too high for the available budget and Tusquets is considering selling him to PSG or Manchester City next month.

A move to PSG would have a side effect even worse for Barcelona, because it would make possible a move to Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappé. Real Madrid will have the money, PSG will need it after buying and Barcelona will be the only loser in this short but trascendental transfer chain.
