Barcelona unveils third kit for 2021/22 inspired by the team's Champions League trophy

FC Barcelona has launched their third kit of the 2021/22 season, paying homage to their roots in Barcelona and Catalonia. The Blaugrana revealed their new kit earlier this week, launching it with the tagline 'More than Pride' to best represent their links to the Catalan state. The third Barcelona kit remains in the traditional blue and red stripes of the club with a creative touch added by local artists. 

The Spanish giant is never afraid to showcase its links to the city of Barcelona and Catalonia as a whole and as part of the new jersey strategic places such as Poble-sec, Poble Nou, Gràcia, Raval and Les Corts were illustrated in the background of the shirts. Each stripe on the shirt pays homage to the scarves worn by the Barcelona fans on Matchdays. The third strip of Barcelona was fully developed by young Catalan artists. 

The third kit is unique in that it is to be worn by both the Male and Female senior teams in the UEFA Champions League only. Barcelona's male team wore the third kit in their home match against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. The shirts would be available for sale between September 7th and 17th at the official Barca stores at the Camp Nou, Canaletes, Passeig de Gràcia, La Roca Village, and Barcelona Airport T1 and T2, as well as via the club's e-commerce outlets. After then, the kits can then be purchased from all other usual places. 

The Barcelona third kit will be created in two types, one each for the Male and the Female teams. This is to accommodate the different sponsors they have. On the men's shirt, there would be the logos of Nike and Rakuten. While for the Female team, there would be the logos of STANLEY and Nike on the front part of their jerseys. The Barcelona Women's team are the defending champions of the Women's  UEFA Champions League. 

'Created BY Barcelona' and the 'Stay Homas' groups are part of the important groups involved in the third kit of Barcelona. 'Created BY Barcelona ' will be in charge of creating taglines, promoting on social media and local youths and inviting local talents. While the Stay Homas group created music for the promo video which includes Memphis Depay, Sergino Dest, Frenkie de Jong, Sergi Roberto and Riqui Puig.
