In the absence of a game for the end of the league year, FC Barcelona wants to quickly turn the page and focus on the next edition. At the managerial level, Joan Laporta and his team began to plan the following season and especially how they will move in the transfer market that will open from June 1.

In economic terms, the Barça institution has the mission of reducing the wage bill and at the same time getting strong reinforcements to fight to win the Champions League again. That's why from Spain they assured that four heavyweights of the entity are already walking the tightrope.

According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Joan Laporta will have to continue with the task that Josep Maria Bartomeu started when he got rid of players like Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and Luis Suárez to alleviate the financial crisis that the club is carrying on its back.

The renowned Catalan media reported that "the club wants to sit down with several stars with high chips to analyze their situation after the last fiascos." Those designated are Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Antoine Griezmann. It should be noted that of these four, the first three are substitute captains, in the event that Messi is absent or does not come out with the tape in a game.

What Laporta will be looking for is to be able to sit down and negotiate with each of these footballers. Review their respective situations and talk about the salary they receive in relation to what they contributed during the football season. Finally, always according to the aforementioned portal, they will be asked to lower their salary "since their role will no longer be untouchable".

At the same time, they could also seek an agreed solution without turbulence in the negotiations. Sergi Roberto (29 years old) has one left to finish his contract, Sergio Busquets (32) ends in 2022 and Gerard Piqué (34) would end his agreement with the first team in 2024. The French striker (30), meanwhile, signed in 2019 until 2024 but his performance does not go hand in hand with the numbers that were established in his contract.
