He was one of those who supported him in the campaign and who would be part of Joan Laporta's project once he managed to assume the presidency of FC Barcelona. However, after almost a week after the inauguration of the Barça boss, he broke sticks and, at least for the moment, he will not be in his work team.

Víctor Valdés, has decided to distance himself due to disagreements in the position he would have. According to information from Catalunya Ràdio, the historic Barcelona goalkeeper does not want to train goalkeepers. He intended to take the technical direction of a team (he was already a Youth coach) and, if the negotiation is not redirected, he will not return to the Camp Nou.

Valdés had attended the presentation of the sports project for Joan Laporta's candidacy before the elections and it was assumed that he would be on his work team. But after this episode, the goalkeeper of the club's 'golden era', key in multiple leagues and legendary for the final he played in Paris in 2006, has preferred to distance himself from Laporta's project.

Victor Valdés also referred months ago in an interview with ‘RAC 1 ′, to his two exits from the Barça club, the first as a player and the second the 19-20 season as coach of Juvenil A. “In the first one, I went out in a Sanitas cart (he was seriously injured in a match at the Camp Nou), accompanied by two ball boys and with his hands on his face crying. It was a fateful night for me and I wanted to leave it there because it was what had touched me and I didn't want to change it", he explained.

Regarding the second, he said that “there were many circumstances and Barcelona is a club that has a very strong philosophy at the level of play and methodology and I am a more dynamic coach who adapts to the talent of the players. In this sense, I found many closed doors when making decisions, beyond the fact that the coach's decisions were often not the ones that were worth it", concluded Victor Valdes.
