AC Milan: see how they can still qualify for the knockout round despite their points tally

AC Milan are in a difficult but not impossible situation to qualify out of their UEFA Champions League group despite being bottom and having just a point from four games and have two games against Atletico Madrid and Liverpool next.

AC Milan lost all three games of the first round of the group stage of the Champions League but began the second round with a draw against Porto against whom they lost the first leg match by a score line of 1-0.

Their first group game was a 3-2 loss in a pulsating encounter against Liverpool followed by a 2-1 home loss to Atletico Madrid. It got even more difficult after losing 1-0 to Porto in the third game but the current standings of the group gives them a thin chance of survival.

Liverpool have qualified out of the group as leaders with an unassailable lead with 12 points, Porto have five points while Atletico Madrid have four points. Milan must beat Liverpool and Atletico Madrid in their final two games while relying on help from Liverpool to beat Porto as well as have the result of the match between Atletico Madrid and Porto also go their way.
