AC Milan on the verge of history: see what they have to do next to qualify for the next round

Italian giants AC Milan made an impressive step towards securing qualification for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League with a win over Spanish champions Atletico Madrid to secure their first win of the group and move up to third.

AC Milan have picked up just one point from their opening four games but the group standings means if they win their remaining two games they could still qualify and they have now won their first. They need to beat Liverpool and hope the result in the other match favours them.

Milan's Champions League form doesn't reflect their domestic form. The Rossoneri are joint top of Italian Serie A table with Napoli and both sides are separated on goal difference. They have been far from decent in the Champions League.

They face an uphill task against 2019 UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool, they must beat Jürgen Klopp men and hope for a draw between Atletico Madrid and FC Porto in the final matchday. If the other results don't go their way, they still get Europa League qualification.
