Things are not going well for FC Barcelona. The club is around mid table and after their defeat in Cadiz, nobody is safe of criticism. And when a team is doing badly, the coach is pointed out as the biggest responsible for the bad results. Ronald Koeman is not the exception and many people doubt his capacity for managing a big side like this.

In this context, a former Spanish star managed by Koeman at the late stages of his career has joined the critics and told everyone how flawed is him at his job. He saw the opportunity of talk badly of the manager who damaged his beloved club and took it, saying that FC Barcelona should just aspire to qualify for UEFA Champions League.

Santiago Cañizares, international for Spain and Valencia player for ten years, referred at the Dutch’s stint at his club, and remembered Koeman managed to take a squad with stars who won everything at other clubs or with Spanish national team like him, David Villa, David Silva, Juan Mata, and others, to fight for avoiding relegation.

12 years ago, Cañizares was left out of the squad until Koeman was sacked some time before the end of the season. The interim manager included the keeper and miraculously saved the situation. Now, the FC Barcelona coach is facing complicated times, after losing four of his ten league matches, the worst start of the club in 33 years.
