Lionel Messi has passed almost a life at FC Barcelona. He joined La Masía when he was only 13 years old, an after so many years he may leave. He tried to do so last transfer window, but president Josep María Bartomeu didn't let him. But now, after the departure of the president, things may change.
Even though Messi stays or leaves now, Barça is already making a plan to replace him as he won't be eternal. The player pointed out to take Messi's place is Pedri González. The 17 years old offensive midfielder arrived to Barcelona from Las Palmas for just $6 million on August 2020 and signed a contract for two years.
In his very first games for Barcelona, Pedri showed all his talent and proved Ronald Koeman that he can trust on him. Even though he wasn't from the start on every game, Pedri played all seven matches of the Spanish side these season, scoring one goal, against Ferencvaros on Champions League debut.
Barcelona has now made a plan for Pedri, trying to make him gain muscle mass during his last years of growth. The club decided to shield him with a release clause of €400 million, what makes impossible for any team in the world to sign him.
