Edwards has a secure future financially speaking as he will collect 44 million for the next four seasons.

This is precisely what makes him similar to Carlos Vela, who has already said in several interviews that soccer is a job for him and that he likes to watch other sports more. Both Carlos Vela and Anthony Edwards do not watch their sport on television but only practice it professionally and it is their way of earning money.

It is interesting to see how two of the most important athletes in the United States do not enjoy watching the sport they play. Vela will have the challenge of being the leader of his team in the MLS Playoffs, while Edwards will have the tough challenge of proving why he was chosen number one in the NBA draft.
