The 2020-21 season has a couple of months of competition left, but Real Madrid's sports management is already planning the next campaign. According to Spanish media, one of the first issues they work on within the white team is casualties. There are players in Zidane's squad who have run out of space due to the discreet performance offered throughout the course.

That is why, after a meeting between the French coach and Florentino Pérez, the names of the elements that would see the exit door of the Bernabéu were defined. "Lunin, Odriozola, Marcelo, Mariano, Militao and Isco have not finished entering the rotations of Zidane, in addition to the loaned Jovic and Odegaard, and all could leave the team next summer", says the aforementioned Catalan media.

To the aforementioned names, two others are added that would come out in the summer, but not by decision of Real Madrid. Sergio Ramos ends his contract on June 30 and so far there is no sign that he will accept Florentino Pérez's renewal offer. The other footballer who would leave a big hole in the defense of Real Madrid with his possible departure is Raphael Varane. After more than a decade in the Valdebebas team, the Frenchman would be in search of new airs, so the merengue directive would sell him in summer before seeing him leave for free in mid-2022, the date on which the contract with the institution ends.

The losses of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane would force Real Madrid to rebuild the defense. David Alaba and Pau Torres are candidates to reinforce Zidane's team, but so far there has been no concrete approach. Always according to the aforementioned source, the losses of Real Madrid for the next campaign would mean a saving of 70 million euros in salaries, money that would be used to buy other "galacticos" such as Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland.
