After the surprise departure of the coach Robert Dante Siboldi, Cruz Azul already opens the wallet willing to disburse millions for the next technical director, everything indicates that the fight would be between the Argentinian Matías Almeyda and Antonio Mohamed, both with a poor performance in the season 2020.

The team is urgent to find their new technical director who can give them finally the Clausura 2021 title, however they do not want to make a hasty decision so it is expected that a home coach will be the one who will manage the team the following week in the matches of the Concacaf champions league, where it would be a hard blow again if the team is also eliminated.

Much has been said about the possible coaches that could reach the team, however there are two that take more strength from the others, which are the cases of the Argentines Matías Almeyda and Antonio Mohamed, both already champions in Mexican soccer. Let's remember that Mohamed had a bad step with Rayados de Monterrey in the last season same as Matías Almeyda, who is currently in MLS.

The contracts that both managers are asking for are very high, for example in an interview that Antonio Mohamed gave, he declared that in 2019 he was earning about 2.5 million dollars a year, that was before he was three times champion with Monterrey, so surely, he would be asking about 3 or more million dollars a year from Cruz Azul for his services. By other hand the case of Almeyda is similar, since his contract with San Jose Quakes is very high, even for Cruz Azul's expectations.
