Chelsea's academy popularly referred as Cobham is one of the best academies in the world and has produced some big stars, but only John Terry has come through the ranks and made it in the first team. Many others have tried and failed but that soon changed with Frank Lampard.

Frank Lampard was appointed Chelsea manager at the beginning of the 2019/20 season and he began a new era of giving academy products a chance at the club with the likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Fikayo Tomori, Billy Gilmour and co breaking into the first team under him.

Frank's most loved of the boys is a player reminiscent of him in his playing days Mason Mount. Lampard had him on loan at Derby County for the first year of his managerial career and also gave him first team opportunities at the club, even while he was suffering criticisms, he believed in him.

Mount has a contract at Chelsea till 2024 and he pockets £77,000 per week at the club. The club is already discussing a new contract with him which could see his wages get doubled to as much as £150,000 which will surely be deserving of his contract for his immense contribution.
