Lionel Messi wasn’t given one: the luxurious cars that FC Barcelona’s players received
The Argentinian was allegedly kept apart by the club in a marketing event recently held alongside one of their newest sponsors.
Lionel Messi saw all eyes directed at him in the last hours after a strange episode that happened in FC Barcelona this week. No, it is not their defeat in the Spanish Supercup against Athletic Bilbao.
The club handed brand new cars to a large part of the squad following a sponsorship agreement they have with a Spanish manufacturer some days ago. Only now they posted a video of the event in their social media. Guess what: there’s not a single shot of Lionel Messi in it.
Cupra used to be a trend line in Spanish company SEAT, a mote given to the sportier versions of each of their models. Following a good success in the market, it turned into a separate brand, just like happened with DS and Citroen in France. Now, Cupra sponsors FC Barcelona.
Of course, the fans went mad at the club after finding out that Messi was not in the video, so lots of speculations fired up. It is said that this represents a wink-eye to the Argentine’s possible departure at the end of his contract.
Apparently, the club has allegedly pointed this happened during Christmas’ holidays, and hence that, Messi was simply spending time with his family in his hometown Rosario in Argentina. Could that explain?
