The ongoing back and forth between PSG and Real Madrid over a potential move of Kylian Mbappé between the two clubs or a renewal of his contract at PSG continues to take different turns daily. PSG rejected a transfer fee of as much as €200m from Real Madrid in August and they could be set to lose Mbappé for free next summer.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said in September that the club did not accept the bid because it respects the UEFA financial fair play policy but considering how much money Real Madrid submitted and the possibility of losing Mbappé for free, it's not good business for PSG.

PSG signed Mbappé from fellow French club Monaco for €180m in 2017 on a five years contract that is worth €18m per year which means by the end of his five years, the club would have paid him a total salary of €90m. It would mean a total of €270m would have been spent on him by the club, why then did the club reject an offer of €200m?

The club will be hoping a contract renewal which Mbappé confirmed talks to renew was stopped two months ago because he informed the club that he wanted to leave immediately after the Euro 2020. Real Madrid will hope he doesn't renew his contract so that they can have their man for free next summer.
