He started his career very young, in the year 2004 where he debuted in Club América. Ochoa soon became part of the squad, and a regular player. He fought for the goalkeeper position in the first years with player like Adolfo Rios or Sebastian Saja, but finally he became the starter one.

With Club America, Memo had great performances. He won several titles with the club like Liga MX or Interleagues, but probably the most important one was the CONCACAF Champions League in 2006.

After playing 239 games for the team in different competitions like Liga MX or Copa Libertadores, and staying more than 7 years, he decided to boost his professional career with his first European experience at Club Ajaccio from France.
