When Real Madrid paid a world record fee of £80m to Manchester United to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009, Romelu Lukaku was an 16year old boy who just signed his first professional contract with Anderlecht in Belgium, fast forward to now, they have both shared pitches and podiums.

Romelu Lukaku made a big move out of Belgium in 2011 for €15m, sounds too much for a teenager but for a teenager who has won the Belgian league as well as the league's top scorer, it was a worthy fee. However, things failed to move fine for the teenager and went on different loans before eventually departing in 2014.

After stints at West Bromwich Albion, Everton, Manchester United and Inter Milan, he returned to Chelsea at the beginning of this season for €115m taking his total transfer fees to €327.5m and becoming the most expensive player in history.

Cristiano Ronaldo in his transfers from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United to Real Madrid to Juventus and back to Manchester United again has amassed a total transfer fee of €245m, once brewing the world transfer record with his move from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009.
