Numerous European club talent hunters have traveled to Mexico to investigate footballers there, especially to closely follow the evolution of players like Cruz Azul's Orbelin Pineda. The former Chivas player is regularly called up by Tata Martino for the Mexican national team. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has his hours counted at La Maquina Cementera.

In one of the previous transfer windows, the Mexican player declined an offer from Manchester City. The English team offered more than 10 million euros to hire him, but Orbelín did not feel qualified to make the great leap to Europe and, furthermore, because he had just arrived at Cruz Azul.
