Major League Soccer has been known to attract major international soccer stars. However, in recent years it also started to be characterized by selling players to the European soccer. Although top players such as Gonzalo Higuain and Chicharito Hernandez continue to arrive in MLS, many other players leave the MLS to play abroad.

In that regard, Atlanta United, which won the MLS in 2018, became the American club that received more money from the sale of its players, even though it was founded only five years ago. According to Transfermarkt, the team led by Stephen Glass has gained 54.5 million euros in revenue from the sale of its players.

In addition, Atlanta United made two of the five most expensive sales in MLS History. First, they received $24 million for the Paraguayan Miguel Almirón, who joined Newcastle United. Then, the Argentinian Gonzalo Martinez was sold to Al-Nassr from Arabia for 16.3 million euros.

The second team that received more money from sales is Vancouver Whitecaps with a total of 17.5 million dollars. FC Dallas completes the podium with $16.6 million, thanks to the sales of Reggie Cannon, Carlos Gruezo and Chris Richards to the European soccer.
