The signing of Jordan Henderson for Ajax from Al Ettifaq would have left the door open to reveal some of the most horrible secrets about the Saudi Pro League on these days, as after the Englishman’s departure due to the lack of level of the league, many players would have profited the moment to spoke out on their feelings playing in that tournament.
Manchester switch? Man United set to appoint crucial Man City club member
One of them was a Cristiano Ronaldo teammate at Al Nassr, who despite the Portuguese superstar recently hailed the tournament ahead of the French League, would have decided to publicly hit Saudi football by revealing the poor level delivered by most of the players in the competition.
The player in question was the Manchester City former center back Aymeric Laporte, who plays for Al Nassr alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, and would have decided to hit massively the Saudi Pro League through an interview conceded for the Spanish sporting journal AS, where the Frenchman revealed that “there are many players who are dissatisfied” with their time in Saudi Arabian football, adding that “in Europe they pay you a good salary, but they take better care of you”.

In this sense, Laporte spoke on the facilities the Saudi teams give to adapt to the country and their football. "It is a big change in relation to Europe, but at the end of the day, it is a question of adaptation. They didn't make it easy for us. In terms of quality of life, I expected something different, since in the end here we spend three hours a day by car, in traffic jams in Riyadh," said Laporte, who does not discard a return to Europe if these adaptation problems continue.
