In 21 appearances for Real Madrid this season, he scored 12 goals and provided seven assists. He suffered injuries this season that kept him out for a couple of games. He started this new year well after scoring a hat trick against FC Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final. Vinicius was raised by some of his teammates and by his manager, Carlo Ancelotti. Ancelotti said, "Top 3 players in the world? Vinicius, Bellingham and Rodrygo. Then Kroos, Valverde, Camavinga..." Bellingham said, "For me, when he's [Vinicius] in that mood, he's the best player in the world. Vini is just such a joy to watch and a joy to play with. Not just as a player but as a person. Unbelievable to be around."

His traits are somewhat compared to Neymar's ability when he was at FC Barcelona. Neymar produced skill and pace to get round defenders in La Liga. Neymar is a player Vinicius looks up to, and now the ex-PSG player has excited many Brazilian fans for his recent appearance in Brazil.
