Real Madrid have been very happy with the signing of Jude Bellingham last summer. The English midfielder was the top goalscorer of Real Madrid this past season even though he was signed as a central midfielder. Instead, Carlo Ancelotti played him as an attacking midfielder behind Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, where he scored lots of goals. Bellingham was arguably the biggest star of the team this past season.
The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder was loved by the Real Madrid fans, and Bellingham loves the club. Now, he can prove it once again if he manages to persuade a world-class player to join the club soon. Bellingham is great friends with Liverpool's right back, Trent Alexander Arnold. The two are very close and spend lots of time together when they are in the England national team, especially during EURO 2024. Bellingham is currently on vacation, but he was seen with Trent once again.
But that is not the reason why Real Madrid fans can dream of the right-back joining the club as the Liverpool star talked about the club. In an interview with Mirror Football, Alexander Arnold was asked about his favorite stadium to play in. Trent answered, "Favorite ground other than Anfield, Wembley? Santiago Bernabéu.” He has played there in the past.
Trent Alexander Arnold spoke highly about Bellingham as well and said, "When you’ve got players like him, then of course you’re grateful to have him in your team rather than any other nation. He’s a player that will help the country to win tournaments, successful at such a young age, knows how to win, knows what it takes to win, got the mentality and of course can play amazing football too.”
Los Blancos may take advantage of their friendship to persuade the English right back to join the club. There have been reports in the past that Real Madrid is interested in signing Alexander Arnold since he is in the last year of his contract. He has less than 12 months as his contract in 2025 expires on June 30th next summer. Trent Alexander Arnold has lots of experience at the high level, as he was coached by Jurgen Klopp for many years, winning a Premier League title and the Champions League trophy. Real Madrid will hope to sign him next summer as a free transfer.
Trent Alexander Arnold played a total of 37 matches for Liverpool this past season across all competitions. He scored three goals and provided nine assists as a right-back. He suffered a couple of injuries this past season that didn't allow him to play as many matches for Liverpool as he would have liked.
Liverpool finished third in the Premier League with 82 points and qualified for the Champions League next season. The team's record after 38 league games is 24 wins, ten draws, and four losses. Trent played in 28 Premier League matches this past season under Jurgen Klopp, where he started in 25.
