Erling Haaland was taken off by Pep Guardiola and replaced with Julian Alvarez, but instead of being upset about it, he wished his teammate support and good luck. Haaland struggled against Real Madrid today and in the previous game last week. Alvarez came on to try to be a threat in the box, but Man City couldn't score another in extra time against Madrid.

Alvarez played the entire 30 minutes of extra time, but Man City and Real Madrid tied 1-1 and went to penalties. Erling Haaland had a night to remember with no danger for the Madrid defense.
Haaland had two shots on target over the course of two games against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals. Haaland's current form has dropped, and he is struggling to be as effective as he was last season.

Real Madrid eliminates Manchester City
Real Madrid and Man City drew 1-1 after extra time and they went to penalties. Madrid just wins it on penalties 4-3 and advances to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Alvarez took the first penalty for the shootout and scored. Modric stepped up for Madrid, and Ederson saved his pen. Bernardo Silva took the second penalty, and his shot was saved as it was straight to Lunin. Bellingham took Madrid's 2nd penalty and scored. Mateo Kovacic missed City's third penalty, which was the deciding one.
Lucas Vasquez scored for Real Madrid after that. Foden scored for Manchester City, and Nacho from Madrid scored. Ederson took the 4th penalty and scored, but Antonio Rudiger scored the winning penalty to give Los Blancos the win.
