There have been a few Premier League fixtures since the start of 2024. The league has taken a few breaks from their regular schedule of ten games per weekend as the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup have been played during the first month of the year. There were only seven Premier League games played so far this year.

The Premier League returns, featuring Arsenal taking on Crystal Palace and Brentford playing Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Sunday will showcase Sheffield United playing West Ham and Bournemouth playing Liverpool. After that, more league games will be played until next Thursday. Most Premier League fans will look forward to watching Saturday`s fixture between Brentford and Nottingham Forest. After serving eight months of suspension for breaking the Premier League's gambling rules, Ivan Toney is available to return to the football pitch.

Many Premier League fans, especially Brentford fans, look forward to seeing if Toney still has the quality he showed in the previous season. He scored 20 goals and provided four assists in 33 league games for Brentford last year. His last Premier League goal was ironically against Nottingham Forest in a home game where the Bees won 2-1.

Ivan Toney speaks on playing again while mentioning his ambition to join a big club soon

In an interview with Sky Sports, Ivan Toney expressed his excitement about playing for Brentford again this weekend. He was asked if he would be ambitious enough to leave Brentford for a bigger club, and he did not close that possibility for this winter transfer window. Toney says, "I feel like a free man; I just can't wait to enjoy and play football again!".

Toney expresses his desire to play for a top club by saying, "You can never predict the right time to move elsewhere, but it’s obvious I’d like to play for a top club fighting for titles. Whether it’s this January if a club were to come in and pay the right money, who knows.” He has been heavily linked to a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool FC.
