Xavi Hernandez has told FC Barcelona and the media several times that his decision to leave the club at the end of the season is final. A majority of Barcelona fans want the Spanish manager to stay since the team's performances have elevated ever since he made his decision. The team is on a ten-game undefeated streak and has advanced into the quarterfinals of the Champions League. FC Barcelona Joan Laporta and other Barca board members respect Xavi's decision but hope to convince the manager to stay next season. While Laporta speaks about Xavi, he reveals his plan, which could be a huge risk for the club.

Joan Laporta spoke with Mundo Deportivo, and when asked if he wants Xavi to stay, Laporta said, "I would like Xavi to stay. But I'll say one thing: we are not talking about it. I've already told him that all coaches want to come to Barça, at least I'm receiving proposals from everywhere, and I've told Xavi that we respect the fact that he will stay at until the end of the season. It was his decision."

Laporta continues and says, "I've told Xavi that we are doing well; we are getting better and better. Look, since Xavi announced his departure, we've won again, and we're winking at each other as if to say that something can happen here. This is how it is going, it's going better, and the objectives are being achieved. The coach who comes in will have to adapt to our structure. That's how Barça has to work. It can't be that every time a coach comes in, the structure changes and that will be a fundamental premise. Barça is above coaches, players, presidents and directors."

Joan Laporta will wait until the end of the season to look for new managers

Laporta still believes there is a chance that Xavi will stay next season, and he says that the club will risk not looking at any manager at the moment to respect Xavi and convince him to stay. Laporta said, "I say that whoever wants to come to Barça will have to wait until the end because we are not going to touch anything until Xavi makes the decision."
