The MLS seems to grow bigger and bigger every year as they are rumored to sign big stars from the big European leagues. The league witnessed Inter Miami signing Lionel Messi and then bringing in his former teammates at FC Barcelona, such as Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez. Now, the MLS is linked to Sergio Ramos, but he wouldn't join Inter Miami. The Athletic reports that Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos is in advanced talks with San Diego FC over a move to MLS. San Diego FC is a new MLS expansion team that will debut next year, and the new club is also linked to other high-level players.
Ramos' contract with Sevilla expires this summer, and it seems unlikely that he will stay with his boyhood club for another season. Ramos returned to Sevilla last summer by signing a contract until the end of the season. The Spanish defender is 38 years old, and he would take less than a year off to wait to play for the new MLS expansion team.
HITC Football reports that San Diego FC is ready to launch an audacious bid to sign Kevin De Bruyne from Man City. The Belgian's contract expires next year with Man City, and he has offers from Saudi Arabia as well. While the Belgian reportedly does not want to leave Man City to move to Saudi Arabia, a move to the MLS could become attractive if his current club doesn't offer him a new contract. A move as soon as next year seems unlikely since he is still a crucial player but the injury he suffered early this season seems to still be a concern.
San Diego FC is reportedly interested in Neymar Jr. as well and is thinking of bringing him in next year when his contract with Al Hilal expires. The Brazilian has been rumored to be moving away from Saudi Arabia for a while and has been linked to a return to Europe or a move to either Inter Miami or Santos in Brazil. The new MLS club is also interested in Mexican players Hirving Lozano from PSV and Guillermo Ochoa from U.S. Salernitana.
