Liverpool will look different next season, and it will take some time to get used to it as Jurgen Klopp will no longer be the manager. Jurgen Klopp looks to stick with his decision to leave at the end of the season. Liverpool has reportedly been tracking Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen, but they aren't the only ones interested in the Spanish midfielder. Bayern Munich has shown interest in Xabi Alonso as well. Other reports suggest that neither Liverpool nor Bayern Munich will be able to appoint Alonso this summer because of his desire to stay at Leverkusen. Liverpool's plan B was Roberto De Zerbi but with Bayern Munich pushing for the Italian, Liverpool looks elsewhere.

Liverpool was considering appointing De Zerbi in case Alonso joined Bayern Munich or stayed at Bayer Leverkusen. The Spanish manager's future is uncertain, and now Bayern is showing interest in De Zerbi as the plan B while Liverpool steps away. Christian Falk reports that Bayern's next supervisory board meeting will take place in May. During the meeting, Max Eberl will present the results of his coaching search to the supervisory board members.

Eberl and Christoph Freund, both responsible for the search for a new coach, have set a goal of largely completing the talks with the candidates by the end of April. Bayern is still waiting for Xabi Alonso, and if he's willing to take the job, he will definitely be Thomas Tuchel's successor. But as long as there's no word from Alonso, Eberl continues to work through his list of alternatives, and one of them is Roberto De Zerbi, who is Eberl's plan B. Talks with the Italian have already taken place.

Liverpool's plan B is Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP

Fabrizio Romano reports that Liverpool's interest in Ruben Amorim is more concrete than their interest in Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi at this point. Amorim is the favored alternative to Xabi Alonso. Romano said, "Ruben Amorim is a concrete candidate for the Liverpool job. I think he is in position number two at this moment, from what I’m told."
