Liverpool fans are enjoying the amazing season Virgil Van Dijk is having. The Dutch defender has been immense at the back, and the Reds are confident in keeping him next season despite rumors of him leaving because of Jurgen Klopp. Klopp announcing that he was leaving the club at the end of the season led to reports and rumors that both Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah were set to leave as well. While Salah is yet to be unknown, Van Dijk cleared the rumors of him leaving by stating that he looks forward to more seasons at Liverpool despite Klopp leaving this summer. Liverpool are looking for new signings this summer, but they could potentially hold back from buying defenders as one of their defenders has expressed his desire to stay longer.

Even though his contract with Liverpool expires this summer, Joel Matip wants to continue with the Reds next season. The Cameroonian defender has been crucial for Liverpool in the past few years, but he is currently out due to an injury. Matip suffered an ACL injury against Fulham last December. He is out for the rest of the season, and some Liverpool fans believe that the game against Fulham was his last one with the club.

Sports Zone reports that Joel Matip once again expressed his desire to continue the adventure in Liverpool to his leaders. For the moment, only Eintracht Frankfurt has clearly positioned itself behind the scenes. Liverpool will have to decide quickly as his contract soon expires. Matip only played 10 Premier League matches for Liverpool this season and has been suffering lots of injuries recently.
